LLDC publishes an appraisal of its Quality Review Panel

As part of the transfer of its planning powers back to the four Boroughs, the London Legacy Development Corporation has published an appraisal of the work of its Quality Review Panel. Peter chaired the Panel for nine years from 2012-2021. The report covers the Panel's set-up and evolution and explains the policies and processes that it followed. It also assesses the impact that the panel had on the quality of development proposals in the LLDC area, and contains five case studies where the panel made a particular impact: Here East, Fish Island Village, Stratford Waterfront, Marshgate Lane and Jubilee House.

The report highlights how Peter 'chaired the LLDC Quality Review Panel from 2012 to 2021, making an essential contribution to the quality of its advice, based on a deep understanding of the LLDC context. His role involved not just chairing individual review meetings, but also advising on the way in which the panel was run, and maintaining good links with the Planning Decisions Committee through annual feedback sessions. His professional background as a Director of Planning in Cambridge, meant that he was able to steer panel discussions to be a constructive part of the planning process.'
