West of England local authorities visit Cambridge

The four West of England Unitary Authorities - Bristol City Council, Bath and North East Somerset, North Somerset and South Gloucestershire - visited Cambridge on 14/15th September to exchange views with the Cambridge authorities on planning for growth across local authority boundaries.  The visit was sponsored by Business West and the West of England Local Enterprise Partnership, and the 34 delegates included representatives of local businesses as well as local Councillors and officers from the four authorities. A seminar was held at St Catherine's College on lessons from the Cambridge growth strategy, and the group also made a bus tour around new housing in Cambridge including Accordia, Abode at Great Kneighton, North West Cambridge and Cambourne. The idea for the study tour came from support work that Peter is providing for the West of England authorities on their emerging Joint Strategic Plan for the West of England.
