A major two day conference in Lille in France will examine the critical role of land and viability issues in the planning system.

The Premieres Assisses du Foncier will be held on 30th June and 1st July, and will look at how the French planning system views land as a resource, and how the uplift in land values resulting from planning permission is used to help fund infrastructure to support growth.  A workshop on the afternoon of 30th June will look at how these issues are addressed in other European countries, and Peter will be giving a presentation on the approach taken in the UK, covering Section 106 Agreements and the Community Infrastructure Levy.
